Replicas of Jaguar’s famous C Type Jaguar rarely come on the market and cars that have been road registered in Australia will be even harder to find as the laws on registering replicas are tightened. But this car, assembled in Australia using components from the renowned Nostalgia company in the UK, was fully road registered in Queensland and therefore will always be able to be road registered in Australia, unlike any other car that has not been registered here in the past or the future.

The car is constructed on a UK jig built space frame chassis that resembles the original design but has been altered to allow for the later model componentry fitted and to create more cabin space than an original. The body is a full hand made aluminum body and is finished in the traditional British Racing Green.

The suspension utilises MKII Jaguar control arms but with fully adjustable coil over spring and shock assemblies. Brakes are 4 wheel discs with dual master cylinders and a vacuum booster. Wheels are 16 x 6 silver painted wires with radial tyres fitted.

The engine is a 3.8 with 10.0:1 compression ratio with a Series III big valve cylinder head, competition camshafts and triple 45DCOE webers. The whole assembly has been balanced and a lightened flywheel and late model diaphragm clutch is fitted. A Jaguar 5 speed gearbox is utilised giving a 0.791 5th gear as an overdrive. A correct Salisbury 4HA differential is used with an LSD centre and 4.22:1 gear ratio.

Power, and overall performance, is scintillating. The driving position and comfort is far superior to that of an original (or faithfully built recreation) and the addition of the passenger side door allows easy access for whoever is brave enough to accompany you!

With only 850 miles travelled since the car was built and a recent recommission by Concours Sportscar Restoration, the car represents a fantastic opportunity to purchase a fully sorted and road registerable C Type for immediate enjoyment.
