Jaguar XK Restorations
Restoration of XK's has been in our DNA since 1993
The Jaguar XK series stands as a testament to timeless elegance, innovation, and performance. 1948 saw the release of the revolutionary XK120. A reference to its top speed, it was the fastest production car in the world thanks to the newly designed straight six twin overhead camshaft layout.
Six years later the refined XK140 rolled out of production with an impressive 30bhp increase on the 120 and exterior modifications. The final XK model before the release of the E Type was ofcourse the XK150. Disc brakes, wind up windows and further engine enhancements (and options too) ensure the XK series leaves a remarkable legacy in automotive history.
Our restoration process goes beyond mere craftsmanship; it is a passionate endeavor to preserve the legacy of these legendary vehicles. We meticulously restore every intricate detail, from the iconic bodylines to the heart of the engine, with an unwavering commitment to exceptional quality, retaining original features while integrating modern reliability enhancements.
Our goal is not just to restore these vehicles but to elevate them beyond their former glory.
Jaguar XK120 Restorations
Its striking design, powered by a robust 3.4-liter inline-six engine, propelled it to a top speed of 120 mph (hence the name). Initially the model was designed to merely showcase the magnificent twin cam engine that Jaguar had designed to power their luxury saloons, but the sleek, curvaceous roadster design was a sensation prompting production to begin alongside the saloons.
This masterpiece of engineering marked Jaguar’s post-war resurgence, captivating enthusiasts with its curvaceous body and, initially, innovative aluminum construction. Only a handful of the ultra collectable “alloy bodied” XK120 roadsters were produced before production was streamlined to a more conventional steel body.
We have restored dozens of XK120’s with numerous concours d’elegance awards. Preserving the vehicles historical significance is paramount while ensuring every curve and contour embodies the original spirit of this pioneering model.
Jaguar XK140 Restorations
Following the XK120’s success, Jaguar refined their formula with the XK140, introduced in 1954. It retained the iconic XK allure while incorporating enhancements such as more interior space, improved suspension and steering, and increased horsepower.
Notably, the XK140 offered more comfort, a revised rack-and-pinion steering, and optional features like an automatic transmission, catering to a wider spectrum of drivers without compromising its sporty essence.
Jaguar XK150 Restorations
The culmination of Jaguar’s XK lineage arrived in 1957 in the form of the XK150. This model boasted a redesigned body, now wider and more refined, featuring four wheel disc brakes and a more spacious interior.
Engine options were plentiful with the XK150 – the same 3.4 litre engine carried over from the XK140 but was now joined by the new 3.8 litre engine. Then towards the end of the life of the XK150, the ultimate version of the XK was produced – the “S”. Available with both the 3.4 and 3.8 litre engines but the “S” featured the new straight port cylinder head and triple 2in SU carburettors that would be seen in the E Type.
Transmission choices included 4 speed manual, 4 speed manual with overdrive and automatic transmission.
