The iconic “Wedge” shaped Aston Martin Lagonda certainly stands out in any crowd. It’s cutting edge styling, futuristic dash and electronics and sheer size has seen the outrageous Lagonda cement it’s place amongst the worlds most unique and iconic motor vehicles. Nearly 5.3 meters long and weighing in at over 2000kg, this is a big car! Powered by Aston Martin’s fabulous 5.3 litre, all alloy, quad cam V8 delivering 280hp, the big Lagonda gobbles up the freeway miles with luxurious ease and actually gets moving to 100 kmph in a not too shabby 8.8 seconds.

But it is the superb ride and sumptuous, luxurious interior that captivates the driver and occupants as much as the dramatic styling commands to bewildered onlookers. This car is the epitome of luxury transportation.

The car boasts full and continuous history with an impressive folder of historic documentation, including all original purchase documents from new and British Motor Heritage Trust certification.

First registered in the UK bearing the plate PBM751W, the car was built on the 5th of December 1980 and released from the Aston Martin headquarters at Newport Pagnell on the 23rd of December 1980. LOOR/13064, an original right hand drive car, was purchased new by Yow Chuan Low of Malaysia on the 2nd of July 1981 as a personal export delivery vehicle. A brass plaque affixed by Aston Martin, adjacent to the odometer in the engine compartment, reads “Y C Low”. Of the 645 Aston Martin Lagondas produced between 1976 and 1989, this car was the only car delivered new to Malaysia. At the time the car retailed at 49,933 pounds which made it a very expensive vehicle indeed.

Mr. Low was a Malaysian real estate and property developer who studied architecture at the University of NSW. Upon graduating, he returned home to Malaysia in 1957 to help in his fathers business, which he eventually later controlled. The Low Yat Group had property holdings in Malaysia and Australia, particularly in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney, which later included Mr. Lows residence in Watsons Bay. The Lagonda resided with him in Malaysia until he bought it with him to Australia in the 1987, where it resided at Watsons Bay. The car was registered in NSW in Mr. Low’s name in 1987, bearing the plate LYC001, but was rarely driven and was stored at the Watsons Bay address for around 10 years before it was sold through York Motors to make way for Mr. Low’s new Bentley.

The car was advertised in the Sydney Morning Herald on the 15th of January 1994, and caught the attention of the current owner, who promptly purchased the car on the 18th of January 1994 for the asking price of $65,000. The mileage displayed on that day was 14,581 miles. The car was registered SZA618 and was first introduced to Concours Sportscar Restoration on the 5th of March, 1994, for a general inspection and recommissioning. For the next decade, the car was used sparingly but was always well maintained until the decision was made to roll the big girl in to Concours Sportscar Restoration for a serious make over.

The car left Newport Pagnell wearing a lighter shade of blue than that worn by the car today. It was originally Scarborough Blue with Blue Nuella leather and blue carpets but following the comprehensive body restoration and full interior retrim, the colour chosen was a darker shade of blue that was available to Aston Martin Lagonda purchasers, specifically Kentucky blue, whilst the interior was masterfully retrimmed by PDR Autocraft of Chatswood, in Magnolia leather with matching dark blue carpets. With the restoration completed in 2006, the big Lagonda promptly won the outright Concours d’elegance trophy at the annual Aston Martin Owners Club Concours. The car today, some 18 years later, presents in the exact same condition which is a testimate to the care and love afforded to it by the owner.

Concours Sportscar Restoration has proudly cared for this beautiful car for over 30 years and since restoration, has attended to regular servicing and maintenance to keep the car in pristine cosmetic and of course mechanical shape. We have just completed a major service which included fitting new Michelin XWX tyres.

After 30 years of ownership, a mere 4400 miles driven in that time, completing a restoration and winning concours d’elegance trophies, it is time for the big Lagonda to find a new custodian and to add the next chapter in it’s life. We are now proud to offer this Aston Martin Lagonda for sale and is ready for immediate delivery.
