Details
Jaguars legendary E Type needs no introduction, so let get’s straight into telling you about this very keenly priced roadster. In terms of picking a model from the range of E Type’s produced from 1961 through to 1974, it is widely accepted that the 4.2 engined range is the most suited for regular driving. Jaguar introduced a number of improvements over the previous model, all of which were steps forward in terms of driver confort, safety and reliability.
The car offered here was manufactured on the 20th of December 1967 as a dark blue car with light blue interior and a black convertible top. Dispatched on the 8th of January 1968 to Jaguar Cars, New York, it’s history in the States is unknown. The car made it’s way to Australia, restored and finished in Old English White with red interior and subsequently converted to right hand drive. The current owner since March 2016 then set about improving the car whilst using and enjoying it very regularly. Concours Sportscar Restoration has cared for the car during this time and has carried out a long list of improvements including engine out/firewall forward restoration, fitting electric power steering, new stainless steel exhaust and retrimming of the seats.
This cars drives superbly, just as a properly maintained and sorted E Type should. The body is totally sound and rust free and the interior presents exceptionally well.
