The car had been modified and fitted with a pedal box extension that has destroyed the LH side of the firewall. We will be taking the car back to standard in this area so we made and fitted a new LH side of the firewall along with welding up a multitude of extra holes in the engine bay and damage around the front. We will be attending to some rust in the front sidelight housings and repainting the front and engine bay. Reassembly will include fitting a new wiring loom, new windscreen chrome pillars and new correct headlamps and spot lamps.

Whilst the bodywork and chassis assembly was continuing, we turned our attention to the engine. The engine is the correct bottom end and has been fitted with a genuine C Type cylinder head from an XK140, but had it's fair share of problems!

The C Type cylinder head was totally rebuilt with the new big valves and seat, the ports blended to suit the larger seats, new cams, buckets and cam bucket guide retaining brackets were fitted. The cylinder head was painted the correct C Type red, the front polished, the inlet manifold was restored and then bolted together ready to fit on the engine.
