The construction of the all aluminium Low Drag body starts with the bulkhead. Many individual components are made and then carefully pieced together. The other picture is the inner sills with the correct stiffeners in place.

With a lot of the many separate individual components made, the time came to start assembling the tub which takes place on our specialised alignment jig. The new upgraded front frames are bolted on and the tub is carefully pieced together from here. Some critical areas are strengthened with the use of steel instead of aluminium otherwise the longevity of the body is jeopardised. Jaguar were not concerned with the lifespan of the body on the Low Drag, they just wanted it to win races, but we need to build a body that will last a lifetime.
